On February 1, 2009 our second oldest boy Christian Kai was baptized.
We are all so proud of him for the decision that he made to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My family came out to participate in the program. Christian had called everyone and let them all know that they each had something that he wanted them to do. I said the opening prayer, Logan gave the closing prayer. Cody gave a talk on baptism, and Grandma gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. Andy did the baptizing, and confirmation. While Grandpa and Steven were the witnesses to make sure that Christian was fully immersed in the water. And Gavyn let the music. He did a very good job too.
A couple of funny things happen though during the whole thing. We were expecting that only family would show up at the baptism, and were surprised when friends from the ward came. Gavyn who it was his job to lead the music came up to me and said, "Mom, I thought you said it was only going to be us here." I said, "Well, I thought it was." Gavyn gives me a look, then says, "I'm just getting a little nervous." He ended up doing a very good job.

During the confirmation, Andy paused during the blessing, then Emmalee rips the worlds loudest longest fart in the history of all mankind. Immediately everyone starts to laugh. I tried my best to hold in the laughter. I opened my eyes to peek up at Christian, thinking that it would bring back the spirit. Well, he was sitting there, with his arms half folded, and one hand plugging his nose. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.
I was a little disappointed that the spirit was disrupted, because the blessing that Andy was giving to Christian was so good. However, once Emmalee let her presence be known to everyone, I sort of lost track of what was being said.
Kids what are you going to do!

Congratulations guys. It looked like it was a really special day.
Congrats! I can't believe you have two kids old enough to be baptized. Amy is coming down from Utah this week and I am going to try to meet her at Disneyland on Tuesday the 17th.
LOL! Hilarious... I can't stop giggling. OH, and the laughter is also being fueled by the fact that your baby just got baptized... what in the world? Are we old or what?
How beautiful...hilarious... and smelly... all at the same time...
